Wil Robertson, Steering Committee member of Coalition Canada, responded to Senator Diane Bellemare’s article in the Globe and Mail (April 27, 2022), which republished in Atlantic Canada by Huddle Today (May 2, 2022) and in several other Postmedia-owned newspapers in Atlantic Canada, including the Telegraph-Journal in New Brunswick.
In his article, Robertson argues that Bellemare raised many issues and reasons why a basic income should not be considered, but her arguments and facts reflect what many economists, topic experts, advocates, and politicians have noted are either endogenous arguments or facts that have been cherry picked and taken out of context.
